Inexpensive Kitchen Makeover – Step 1 – Stool
When one thinks of a kitchen “makeover”, one usually thinks it will cost a small fortune. That is not necessarily true. A kitchen can take on a new and totally different look with a few new colors of paint, a couple of rugs, window treatments, pictures and an inexpensive item or two picked up at a resale shop. This week I will share with you how I used paint (and a few new purchases) to give my kitchen a whole new personality.
An innocent trip to the resale shop motivated me to begin that kitchen “makeover” I’d been putting off for years. There was this lonely, old, wood bar stool just sitting there waiting to be bought. So I wandered over to get a closer look and check out the price. Immediately I knew I could bring this $2.70 bar stool back to life.
With just a sander, a couple cans of spray paint and some masking tape I was able to accomplish what I set out to do with these easy steps:
Sand the loose paint off the stool.
Spray painted the entire stool black and let it dry for a day.

Place strips of masking tape one inch apart vertically then horizontally on the seat of the stool.
Spray paint the seat white and let dry for a day.
Remove the masking tape and stand back and check out your new bar stool.
Don’t you think this is something you can do?
